1987 Schwinn Super Sport

$499.00
sold out

This 56cm 1987 Schwinn Super Sport is a true gem from the golden era of Japanese road bikes—lugged Columbus chromoly tubing, classic vintage road geometry, full Shimano 600, and a two-tone magenta and white paint job that's in remarkably good shape for its age. It’s been fully refurbished and is ready for decades more riding.

This bike got the full refurbishment treatment, including:

  • Deep cleaning of the frame and all components

  • Repacking and adjusting all bearings (bottom bracket, headset, and hubs)

  • Truing wheels

  • New tires and tubes

  • New cables and housing throughout

  • Fine-tuning braking and shifting

  • Fresh bar tape

Everything on this bike is original (full list of parts below) with a few small exceptions:

  • Wear components (tires, chain, brake pads, cables, and bar tape) have all been replaced with brand-new parts.

  • Brake levers have been swapped for similar Shimano 105 levers because the original Shimano 600 hoods had degraded. I’ll include the original levers with the sale if you’d like them.

  • Pedals are period-correct replacements—the originals were unfortunately lost to time.

The frame is a size 22” and will likely fit riders between 5’7” and 5’11”.

Measurements:

  • Seat tube: 22” / 56cm

  • Top tube: 21.5” / 54.5cm

  • Standover height: 32” / 81cm
