Give Your Old Bike a Second Life
Got a bike you're not riding anymore? I buy quality used bikes and give them a second life—fully tuned and matched with a new rider who'll love it. When you sell to me, you're putting your old bike back on the road and helping make cycling more accessible in Austin.
Send me a few photos and I'll let you know if it's a fit. If it is, I'll make you an offer, come pick it up, and pay you cash. Easy as that.
Here’s How it Works
Send me a few photos and the basics. Text me at (512) 436-3125 or email ride@bluebonnetbikes.com. Include your bike’s brand, model if you know it, and a few clear photos—a shot of the full bike from each side is perfect.
I’ll send you an offer. If it's a bike I can work with, I'll send you a price estimate based on your photos, pending a quick in-person look.
I’ll pick it up and pay you. I offer pickup in the Austin area and can usually get to you within a few days. I verify serial numbers and ask for a valid photo ID at pickup. You're also welcome to drop off if that's easier.
What to Expect
Most of my offers fall in the $50–$150 range, and up to $200 for the right bike—depending on brand, size, and condition.
I restore every bike I buy. That means a full tune-up, worn parts replaced, and getting it ready for its next owner with my 90-day warranty. My offers reflect the work ahead, not what your bike is worth today.
You'll often do better in a private sale. What I offer instead is simple: a fair price, quick pickup, and cash in hand.
Please be advised, I do not buy e-bikes.
What I’m Looking For
I'm selective so I can stand behind every bike I sell. A few things affect whether I can make an offer and how much:
Brand matters. I stick to trusted bike-shop brands—Trek, Giant, Specialized, Cannondale, and similar quality. I can't accept department store or big-box brands.
Size and type. I see the most demand for small and medium hybrid and trail bikes, but I consider all sizes and types.
Age. Bikes from the early 2000s through the late 2010s tend to be the sweet spot. Older and newer bikes can work too, but they're less common for me.
Condition. Scratches, scuffs, and flat tires are expected. What I'm looking at is the frame and major components, and figuring out which parts might need replacing.
My current inventory. I'm a small operation with limited space. Sometimes I'm full, and if the timing isn't right, I'll let you know—and I'm happy to reach back out when space opens up.
Every bike is different, so send me photos and I'll let you know quickly where things stand!
